August 2026 monthly report
NOT FOR RELEASE, DISTRIBUTION, OR PUBLICATION, IN WHOLE OR PART, IN OR INTO THE UNITED STATES
Guernsey, 23rd September 2026
BNPP AM has released the monthly report for Volta Finance Limited (the “Company” or “Volta Finance” or “Volta”) covering August 2026. The complete report is included with this approach, while inflation persisted above target levels and energy costs continued to impact market outlooks. Simultaneously, anxieties regarding government debt dynamics and rising term premia drove long-dated sovereign yields upward, particularly in the United States, where fiscal sustainability emerged as a significant market theme.
Geopolitical factors remained a primary influence on market sentiment. Heightened tensions in the Middle East and uncertainty regarding the Strait of Hormuz triggered a sharp increase in oil prices, with Brent crude reaching nearly USD 94/bbl during the month. These events exerted temporary pressure on risk assets and bolstered inflation concerns. Nevertheless, robust corporate earnings, particularly from companies in the AI sector, continued to provide support for equity markets and maintained a generally constructive investor outlook despite increased volatility.
Within credit markets, leveraged loans continued to outperform traditional fixed-income assets, supported by strong investor appetite and their floating-rate nature. Investment Grade credit remained under pressure as rising sovereign yields impacted total returns, whereas High Yield assets demonstrated greater resilience. Activity in the CLO primary market remained healthy, although issuance experienced a slight slowdown during the summer months. Spreads remained largely stable across the capital structure, bolstered by solid demand and constrained supply, while CLO equity tranches continued to experience pressure from higher liability costs and tighter underlying loan spreads.
