Saunas and ‘booty zones’: Wellness centre, gym taking over old Morley Bunnings site
The era of the sausage sizzle has ended at the former Morley Bunnings warehouse, with two new facility will house a new Merse Wellness Spa, which is set to offer amenities including cold plunge pools, infrared saunas, hot rocks, and magnesium pools.
Joining the spa is Fitness Cartel Morley, a 24/7 gym that will provide a pilates studio and a crèche for children, alongside specialized features not typically found at standard recreation centres, such as a private posing room, altitude training, and a dedicated “booty zone.”
City of Bayswater Mayor Filomena Piffaretti described the businesses keen to bring energy to a site that has been ready for a new lease on life,” she said. “We’re looking forward to seeing this part of Morley revitalised, with new businesses bringing fresh experiences and even more reasons for people to spend time in the area.”
This announcement coincides with a significant redevelopment project taking place just across the street at the Galleria Shopping Centre.
Scheduled to launch in November, the centre has undergone a $240 million overhaul, which will introduce nearly 100 new retail stores, an upgraded centre court, a dining precinct, and a brand-new cinema.
“Our vision for Morley is a thriving shopping and business centre, creating jobs and delivering new retail, dining and entertainment options,” Ms Piffaretti added. “It’s wonderful to see businesses of this calibre choosing Morley and embracing the opportunities that exist here.”
