Under the DUO POWER BOOST theme, Clivet unveiled its Next-Gen Magnetic Levitation solution developed with CLOU.
The company notes that escalating AI computing densities are placing significant strain on data center cooling systems. Challenges such as performance degradation at high temperatures, energy efficiency limitations, and reliability concerns have emerged. Traditional cooling technologies are increasingly insufficient for these demands, fueling the need for thermal management solutions specifically optimized for AI data centers.
The centerpiece of this portfolio is Clivet’s next-generation magnetic levitation compressor, which utilizes the DUO POWER BOOST dual-rotor variable-speed architecture. This two-stage compression system features two rotors and impellers that adjust their speeds independently based on operational requirements, allowing for adaptation to varying pressure ratios and flow rates. According to Clivet, this approach integrates data center load fluctuations, water temperature variables, and system strategies into the cooling source design, facilitating optimization under demanding conditions.
To address cooling requirements throughout the data center, Clivet presented a range of magnetic levitation cooling units. The air-cooled magnetic levitation chiller is designed for facility-side cooling, while the magnetic CDU integrates cooling functions.
A high-capacity CDU featured at the event manages secondary-side heat distribution and exchange, offering capacities up to 3 MW at a 3K approach temperature difference (ATD) or 5 MW at a 5K ATD. Predictive temperature controls maintain fluctuations within ±0.5°C, and critical components are designed for online replacement to support continuous operation in high-availability environments.
Through various product configurations, the solution can be tailored to meet specific project requirements, including rack density, climate conditions, and power supply needs.
Additionally, Clivet and CLOU demonstrated a joint power-and-cooling coordination solution for AI workloads. CLOU contributed energy storage and power delivery expertise, while Clivet provided thermal management solutions for high-density computing environments. For these projects, it is essential to consider power configuration, thermal design, spatial layout, and maintenance planning during the early stages of development.
Coordinated planning for power and cooling is intended to help customers evaluate the interdependencies between infrastructure components from a system-wide perspective, serving as a guide for future engineering delivery and solution design.
From a portfolio spanning facility-side equipment, liquid cooling, and outdoor heat rejection, to the power-and-cooling showcase and the launch of the next-generation magnetic levitation compressor, Clivet’s presence at the summit highlighted its comprehensive technology and product strategy for data center thermal management.
