Mansfield rallied from a two-goal deficit to secure a point in a 2-2 draw against Burton.
Burton had established a two-goal advantage following an own goal by Deji Oshilaja and Jack Armer’s second strike of the campaign, but the Stags fought back through a Michael Smith goal before the interval and a second-half equalizer from Lucas Akins against his former side.
Albion found the breakthrough shortly after the 15-minute mark following a period of sustained pressure. Patient build-up play allowed Charlie Webster to break into the left side of the penalty area, where his dangerous delivery deflected off former Albion defender Oshilaja and past goalkeeper Liam Roberts.
Burton maintained their momentum and extended their lead in the 28th minute. Former Stags loanee Caylan Vickers delivered a looping cross to the back post, where Armer headed the ball through the legs of Roberts from close range.
Mansfield required a response, and they found one five minutes before the break when Smith held off a pair of defenders to steer a Nathan Moriah-Welsh cross into the net
Albion squandered a golden opportunity to regain their two-goal cushion just before half-time when Kyran Lofthouse hammered a rising strike against the crossbar.
David McGoldrick broke through on goal midway through the second half, only to be thwarted by an excellent save from Corey Addai, but the visitors found their equalizer shortly after when Akins turned sharply inside the box to fire home.
